Designed around the factory PC3Z-3049-A upper ball joint configuration, the AX3049 provides direct OE-style fitment for applicable 2023–2026 Super Duty 4WD applications.

At the heart of the design is a Grade 12.9 Extreme-Duty Ball Stud, paired with a forged steel housing and precision-engineered internal components. This heavy-duty construction is designed to withstand the increased suspension and steering loads associated with larger tires, leveling and lift kits, heavy towing, hauling, and demanding off-road use.

Maintenance

Apply 2–3 pumps of grease during installation.

For continued performance, service with 1–2 pumps of grease every 5,000–7,000 miles, or as required based on vehicle use and operating conditions.

Avoid excessive greasing, as the dust boot is designed to exclude contaminants rather than retain excessive lubricant.

Periodically inspect the ball joint and surrounding suspension components, particularly on vehicles equipped with oversized tires, modified suspension, or used regularly for towing or off-road driving.

Installation

The AX3049 is designed as a direct replacement for the factory upper ball joint on applicable 2023–2026 Ford Super Duty 4WD trucks.

Use a suitable ball joint press and follow the applicable Ford service procedures during removal and installation.

Final tightening must follow the proper torque specification for the supplied ball joint hardware. Always use a calibrated torque wrench for final tightening.

Important: Do not use impact tools for final tightening of ball joint hardware.
