The Axiom Supply AX0026 Heavy-Duty Upper Ball Joint is a direct-fit, press-in replacement for the factory OE-style front upper ball joint used across a wide range of Ford Super Duty, Ford truck, SUV, and select Dodge Ram solid-front-axle applications.

The AX0026 shares the same application interchange as MOOG K80026.

For 2005–2022 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 4WD, the AX0026 is the applicable K80026-style upper ball joint.

This ball joint does not replace the redesigned upper ball joint used on 2023–2026 F-250 / F-350 Super Duty 4WD trucks. For those applications, use the Axiom Supply AX3049.

Description

The Axiom Supply AX0026 was developed to provide an exceptionally strong, serviceable upper ball joint for some of the hardest-working Ford and Ram solid-front-axle trucks on the road.

Designed around the proven K80026-style upper ball joint configuration, the AX0026 provides direct-fit compatibility with applicable Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 4WD trucks from 1999–2022, along with additional Ford and Dodge Ram applications utilizing the same ball joint design.

At the heart of the AX0026 is a Grade 12.9 Extreme-Duty Ball Stud, paired with a forged steel housing and precision-engineered internal components. This heavy-duty construction is designed to handle increased steering and suspension loads generated by oversized tires, leveling kits, lifted suspension, heavy towing, hauling, and demanding off-road use.

A self-compensating internal load system helps maintain consistent bearing contact as components wear, supporting precise steering feel while reducing unwanted movement. High-articulation geometry allows smooth movement throughout the joint's operating range, while the greaseable construction makes routine maintenance simple.

Maintenance

Apply 2–3 pumps of grease during installation.

For continued performance, service with 1–2 pumps of grease every 5,000–7,000 miles, or as required based on vehicle use and operating conditions.

Avoid excessive greasing. Apply only enough lubricant to properly service the joint without overfilling or damaging the dust boot.

Periodically inspect the ball joint and surrounding suspension components, particularly on vehicles equipped with oversized tires, modified suspension, or used regularly for towing or off-road driving.

Installation

The AX0026 is designed as a press-in replacement for the factory-style front upper ball joint on applicable K80026 applications.

Use a suitable heavy-duty ball joint press and follow the appropriate vehicle service procedures during removal and installation.

Ensure the ball joint is fully seated and properly retained before final assembly.

On certain Super Duty applications, the factory installation and retention method varies by model year. Use only the retaining hardware required for the specific vehicle application.

Final tightening must follow the proper torque specification for the supplied ball joint hardware. Always use a calibrated torque wrench for final tightening.

Important: Do not use impact tools for final tightening of ball joint hardware.
